Sarah Ann Spannagel

November 6, 1953 - February 6, 2022

Sarah Ann Spannagel, age 68, passed away on February 6th 2022 at Achieve Nursing Home after a long illness. She was predeceased by her parents Richard “Jim” and Mary. She was the wife of Phillip Spannagel and they shared 37 loving years together. Sarah was a lifelong resident of Middletown NY where she was a child advocate for Orange County. She was a member of four square church where she was also married by Pastor McKay. She enjoyed dancing, arts and crafts, playing backgammon with her husband, and spending quality time with her family and fur babies. She is survived by her siblings; Bobby (Mary), Jimmy (Pat), John, Jean, Mary-Pat (Jay), Sue (Tom), Billy and Jeff. Her children Hope (David), Coreen, Vincent, Gloria, Christine, Mary (Dave), and Phillip. Her loving grandchildren; Sarah (Eddie), Jessica, Tori, Gianna, Vincent, Charlotte, Victoria, Allison, Elizabeth, Nick, Devon, Brandon, Amanda and Kaelee along with her great granddaughter Dani and lifelong best friend of over 60 years, Debbie. In addition to many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her sister Ellen, brother Kyle, and nephews Greg and Michael. The family would like to thank Hand and Hand and Achieve Nursing Home for their continuous love, support, and exceptional care of Sarah. She will always be remembered for her contagious smile and laughter, for her love of music along with her love of Betty Boop. A visitation will be held at Martinez-Morse Funeral Home on February 9th, 2022 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm with the burial to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in remembrance of Sarah.
