Doris M. Morris

Doris M.Morris, 85, of Middletown N.Y. passed away on February 27,2022 at Garnet Health Medical Center after a short illness. Doris was married to the late Joe Morris. She was born in Sparrow Bush NY on Mother's Day May 10, 1936 to Cecil E Rumsey and Mildred E Teeple Rumsey. She was a retired sewing machine operator for the former Manhattan Shirt Company and Classic Case. Doris will be remembered for being a loving wife, Mother, Nana and a good friend to many. We're all going to miss her daily phone calls asking "What are you doing?" Doris enjoyed going to the stock car races at O.C.F.S. to cheer on her favorite drivers and dear friend Carl "Fuzzy" Van Horn. Over the years she would be seen at Afton, Bethel Motor Speedway to see her Sons and Grandson race. She loved watching the birds in her backyard and sitting on the side porch with her dogs watching the people go by. Doris is survived by her children Joe Morris JR., his wife Lori of Bloomingburgh, Edward "Cookie" Morris, his girlfriend B.J. of Richmondville, Donna Lynch, her husband George of Pine Bush, Karen Murphy, her husband Joe of Walker Valley, Bob Morris and his girlfriend Tara of Wurtsboro. Grandchildren J.B., his wife Amanda, Kelly, her husband Donnie, George, Matt, Shelby-Jo, Cody, his fiancée Elizabeth, Alex, Drew, husband Joseph, Amanda, Nicole, Landon. Great Grandchildren Adrianne and Jacob. Several Nieces and Nephews. Doris was preceded by her Loving husband Joe Morris, Brother Cecil Rumsey, Sisters Grace Padgett, Nancy McLean. A Public Visitation will be held at Martinez-Morse Funeral Home on Sunday, March 6th, 2022 from 1PM to 4PM. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in her name to your local fire department.
