On Sunday, April 19th, 2020, in New York, USA, during the Feast of the Divine Mercy, at hour of mercy, Dominador Labastida Jalagat, a loving husband and a caring father, passed away at the age of 73. Omie, as he was fondly called, was born on June 23, 1946, in Initao, Misamis Oriental, Philippines, to Nemesio and Teofila (Labastida) Jalagat. He received his Bachelors degree from the Liceo de Cagayan University in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines. On April 28, 1973, he married Auxilium Tapongot. They raised two sons, Jesse Camilo and Jeffrey, and a daughter, Mari Milagros. Omie had a passion for singing. He was known for his quick wit and likes to solve puzzles. He loved sports, watching ball games on sports cable. He was most admired by friends for his sense of humor. He will be much remembered with his kind and compassionate spirit. Dominador was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Emmanuel. He is survived by his wife Auxilium, his children, Jesse, Jeffrey, Mari and their spouses, Jennifer, Haydee, and Len: his grandchildren, Jennie Camille, Jeri Ann, Jhunessa Mae, Janice April, Jelliane Miles, Adrianne Christopher, Lorenz Angela, Georgina Rose, Jesse Camilo II, John Beniduax, Leonardino Gentiles and Angela Diane; his sisters, Annabella Tan and Teonefe Autor; and several nieces and nephews.
