Catherine Sue MacEntee

April 20, 1921 - January 1, 2021

Catherine Sue MacEntee of Middletown, NY passed away peacefully at home Friday, January 1st, 2021 with her family by her side. She was 99. Born in Middletown, NY on April 20, 1921 to the late Hans and Margaret Myers Waizenegger. She is predeceased by her loving husband Joseph MacEntee. After retiring from Newberry’s, Aunt Kate cleaned houses for many years. After a long day of cleaning houses you would find Aunt Kate walking home through the streets of Middletown enjoying the view. In her later years you would find her sitting in her room with a book in hand or watching jeopardy. She loved to feed and watch the birds and all the stray cats in the neighborhood. She was just a kind soul... Aunt Kate loved her family and enjoyed every visit. She will be sadly missed, she was loved! Catherine is survived by her best friends and sisters Mildred Ellison and Rayela Burnett, her sisters in law Violet Waizenegger and Alice MacEntee, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Edward “Hipe”, Samuel & John “Sonny” Waizenegger, sisters Betty Ptak, Marjorie Roselli, Virginia Wix and Doris Talmadge. The family would like to thank all the hospice nurses that came to check on Aunt Kate and her aide Suzanne for the special care she gave. Friends may come Thursday, January 7th between 10-12 at Martinez-Morse Funeral Home 33 Railroad Ave Middletown, NY. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Catherine’s name to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties 800 Stony Brook Road, Newburgh, NY 12550.
