In Loving Memory of Carmen Davila Born on July 20, 1931 Died on March 2, 2019 Carmen was born on July 20, 1931. Her mother’s name was Carmen Goyco; father’s name was Jeremiah Davila. Her place of birth was New York City, Metropolitan hospital. She had three husbands with which she bore two sons; Rafael Leon and James Lorenzana, Jr. Carmen lived most of her life in New York but relocated to Puerto Rico in order to take care of her father when he was diagnosed with Prostate cancer. Upon his death she remained in Puerto Rico until she became of senior age whereby she relocated back to New York in order to be closer to her sons. She leaves behind her two sons and two grandchildren, Lisa Ann Lorenzana and James Vincent Lorenzana. Carmen will always be remembered for her love of life, having been part of a group of girls who called themselves the “barracudas” even having the letter jacket to prove it. In 1954 she won the title of Miss Palladium wearing a hot red bathing suit. She was twenty three years old. She will be remembered for her loving demeanor and grandmotherly smile. She will truly be missed by not only her family but by those fortunate enough to know her.
