Anna M. Barber

May 19, 1943 - April 21, 2020

​The Family of Anna M. Barber is heartbroken to announce her passing on April 21, 2020. ​She was born Anna Mary Giannoccaro on May 19, 1943 to the late P. Michael and Mary Giannoccaro in Middletown NY. ​Anna retired from the Mid-Hudson Psychiatric Center in New Hampton NY. She then joined The Ladies Auxiliary of The Washington Heights Fire Department, of which she was very proud to be a member. ​Anna is survived by her three sons: Robert; William and his wife Jill; Nicholas and his wife Brigitte; her 5 adored grandchildren: Samantha and her fiancé Andrew; Anthony; Trevor and his fiancé Nikki; Joshua and Caitlin; her precious great-grandchildren Gabriella and Madison. Brother Thomas Giannoccaro and his wife Sandy; and sister Palma Johnson and her husband Gary; sisters-in-law Donna Giannoccaro and Patricia Giannoccaro; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Maggie. ​In addition to her parents, Anna was pre-deceased by her brothers: Carmen, Michael and Joseph Giannoccaro; sisters Mary “Dolly” Joseph; Vita “Tootie” Bellows and Rosemarie Ferara; nieces Mary K., Joanne Garrison and Mary Jayne Maloney; great nieces Stephanie Maloney and Diane G. and great nephew Kyle Scott. ​In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Washington Heights Ladies Auxilary. ​Due to the current health crisis, services will be private.
