Andrew C. Romolo
February 21, 1941 - February 10, 2022
Andrew “Andy” Romolo, 81, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2022, surrounded by his family. Son of the late Jerry and Theresa Romolo, he was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up working in the family trucking business. Recognized for his infectious laugh, he enjoyed sharing many stories of himself driving a truck and liked to proclaim himself as, “the best driver in the world!” He recognized himself as, “an original Met fan” but was always a Brooklyn Dodger fan at heart. Knowing Andy meant that you were required to watch Part 1 and Part 2 of “The Godfather” and needed to be ready to discuss the film at a moment’s notice. Andy moved to the Town of Wallkill, New York with his family in 1970 and became self employed in the car business, first in Newburgh, New York and then later in the Town of Wallkill. Andy is survived by Sheila, his loving wife of 54 years, and his sons Gerard and Andrew. His loving family included Gerard’s partner, Ellen; Andrew’s wife, Maura; his nephews Jimmy and Andrew; and his three “greatest grandchildren” Maeve, Brynn, and Shea, who he loved dearly. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 20th from 2PM-4PM at the Martinez-Morse Funeral Home, 33 Railroad Ave., Middletown, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Town of Wallkill Boys and Girls Club in memory of Andy. Messages of condolence may be left at www.DeWittFH.com.
